Impact case: Woldwijk
On an open stretch of land just outside the village of Ten Boer, near Groningen, a remarkable experiment has been underway for years. On almost 40 hectares of land, the Woldwijk cooperative is developing new approaches to housing, work and community. Tiny houses, nature conservation, local food production and community initiatives are all part of the picture. The aim is to show an alternative way of living and working: one that’s more mindful, sustainable, and close to nature, with fewer possessions and a greater sense of community. The Postcode Loterij Buurtfonds is able to support Woldwijk thanks to the players of the Postcode Loterij.

By repairing clothes, they extend the lifespan of products and create jobs for people who face barriers in the labour market. In this way, they’re helping to build a sustainable and inclusive economy. DOEN Ventures is an investor in United Repair Centre.

Impact case: Culture Resource
In the Arab region, where censorship, political instability and war have a profound impact, Culture Resource creates space for art, social contact and imagination. For more than 20 years, it’s supported artists, creative practitioners and cultural organisations there. With grants, training programmes, exchanges and emergency aid, Culture Resource helps artists to continue creating, collaborating and speaking out – something that’s particularly important in places where freedom of expression is under threat. The DOEN Foundation is a committed partner of Culture Resource.
