Through the VriendenLoterij Fonds, we support initiatives geared towards building a society in which everyone can participate and there is room for new possibilities. In 2025, we supported 68 social enterprises and projects and funded 70 arts and culture initiatives in the Netherlands.
Working towards inclusion
We support social enterprises and initiatives that are committed to equity and inclusion and that help people facing limited opportunities to find their place in society.
Our partners demonstrate how jobs, development and support can contribute to an inclusive society. Organisations like Technoord and Stunt create work opportunities for more people.
We also support organisations that are working to strengthen the sector by bringing parties together and sharing knowledge, enabling social enterprises to achieve greater impact.
Imagination as a driver of change
The VriendenLoterij Fonds also supports artistic and cultural initiatives that operate at the heart of society. During 2025, we funded 70 Dutch projects that highlight new perspectives and encourage people to see, think and act in fresh ways.
The creators and organisations we support often work closely with community residents, young people, newcomers and other groups whose voices aren’t central in the public debate. Partners’ projects give people a platform for sharing their personal experiences, local stories and cultural perspectives. Initiatives like Theater Babel and Buitenplaats Brienenoord show how imagination can contribute to inclusion and social cohesion.
We make a conscious effort to allow room for experimentation and reflection. The research project Landschap tussen Frictie en Falen (Landscape Between Friction and Failure) shows that change does not always follow a linear path and can in fact arise from moments of uncertainty, difficulty and exploration.

Stronger together
By supporting social and creative initiatives, we are helping to build a broad movement for change. These projects reinforce one another, inspire others and demonstrate that an inclusive, just society is possible.
