SAM Sixhaven: de participatieve oprichting van een Sociaal-Artistiek Museum - Stichting DOEN

Are the artists and art institutions in Amsterdam-Noord unwillingly complicit in the gentrification of the district? And can it be done differently? With the establishment of SAM, Theatermaker Arthur Kneepkens (Theaterstraat) and visual artist Merel Noorlander, together with residents from the neighborhood and the local, national and international top of social art, are designing an art institution that does not lead to the expulsion and exclusion of ‘old residents’ that is characteristic of gentrification.
