Postcode Loterij Buurtfonds, for all community projects in the Netherlands
We’re proud to say that 774 small-scale neighbourhood projects were realised in 2024 with the support of the Postcode Loterij Buurtfonds. Each and every one is for and by local people. Through Stichting Het Komt Goed, for example, young people help others in their community with everyday chores around the home.
In 2024 we also supported 35 innovative community projects that are thinking on a bigger scale. With their effective collaboration and innovative ideas, they’re challenging conventional companies, authorities and welfare institutions to improve the way they work. Groundbreaking pioneers such as Nu de Toekomst and Delfshaven Coöperatie are acting in radically innovative ways to improve socioeconomic security and welfare. Werkmakers and Plekmakers take a broader approach and work at the social ecosystem level, helping groups of pioneers. They connect people to each other and encourage community residents to turn their dreams into tangible projects with a view to creating a more pleasant, robust and resilient society. All these projects make neighbourhoods greener, more socially inclusive, and more inviting as meeting places. By supporting them, we’re working from the bottom up to create a society in which people care for each other and their surroundings. In sharing these wonderful examples, we hope to inspire others to take action too.
