The Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) wants to accelerate the process of making the textile industry more sustainable. To achieve this, Aii identifies, tests and finances programs that, for example, ensure that factories become more sustainable and that all players in the chain are motivated to produce sustainably and circularly. The clothing industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world. And there is a proliferation of sustainable initiatives that work independently of each other, which means they either fail to get off the ground or remain too small to make a real long-term impact. By collaborating in a new and collective way with clothing brands, producers, sustainable entrepreneurs and financiers, who all commit to the objectives and contribute money and time, Aii will contribute to the reduction of 10% CO2 emissions and 30% water use for the textile sector in the coming 3 years.
