The Kuonyesha Art Fund supports individual artists and collectives in Uganda to create work that offers alternative perspectives on issues that play a role in society. The Kuonyesha Art Fund is an important instrument to strengthen the cultural sector in Uganda and to give artists and their public a voice and hope. This is important because freedom of expression in Uganda is under pressure and artists can hardly find space and funding to create work.
