Herenboeren gives everyone the chance to take back a bit of control over the production of their food. On the Herenboeren farms, a professional farmer helps a collective of enthusiastic and eager citizens to produce their own food. The collective is jointly responsible for the farm and shares the costs, the work and, of course, the harvest.
The first Herenboeren farm was set up in the Dutch village of Boxtel in 2016, but now there are completely self-contained farms in more and more places in the country. The cooperatives gain and share knowledge, and together produce tasty, healthy and sustainable food. It’s a movement that is part of a future-proof food system.
