Amsterdam, 21 November 2024 - InstockMarket, the sustainable hospitality wholesaler combating food waste by repurposing residual streams in the hospitality industry, has secured an investment from DOEN Participaties. This investment will enable InstockMarket to continue its growth and further realise its mission to make the food system more sustainable and circular.
With DOEN Participaties as a partner, InstockMarket has the opportunity to expand its impact and reach. The platform, which connects residual streams from farmers, growers and suppliers with hospitality businesses and caterers, can now supply even more businesses with high-quality, sustainable food options while reducing food waste, thanks to this partnership. DOEN Participaties provides not only financial support, but also expertise and a valuable network, strengthening the shared mission of reducing food waste.
“The support of DOEN Participaties is an important step in the further development of InstockMarket,” says Selma Seddik of InstockMarket. “Together, we aim to increase our impact and inspire even more businesses to opt for circular solutions and reduce food waste.”
Stichting DOEN (DOEN Foundation), the fund of the Dutch Postcode Lottery, has been involved with Instock since 2019. Now, DOEN Participaties, DOEN's social investment company, joins as an investor.
Impact of food waste
One-third of all food production is lost throughout the supply chain. Food waste is a significant problem: leading to wasted water, land and energy used in production. Furthermore, food waste is responsible for about 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
