Welfare

Within the operational area of Welfare, DOEN Foundation supports initiatives that help people who feel disengaged from their local community to become actively involved again. DOEN supports projects that offer these groups a sustainable position and future in society, either by undertaking (voluntary) work or through education and training.

DOEN Foundation also supports a wide range of sports & health projects that enhance personal networks. Within its Welfare field of operation, DOEN focuses in general on socially vulnerable groups that are in danger of losing contact with society or have already done so, for example the long-term occupationally disabled, premature school leavers, ex-offenders, the homeless and mentally or physically incapacitated people. But also undocumented citizens and young disabled persons in receipt of benefit under the Young Disabled Persons’ Act (Wajong), known in Dutch as "Wajongers".

DOEN Foundation only handles applications from projects undertaken in the Netherlands (including (Aruba, Curaçao, Saint Martin and the BES islands).
