Community Involvement
Middelburg
As part of the project ‘Zeeuws Identity/Zeeuws Image’, a programme was devised in partnership with artists and designers, dedicated to identity, homesickness and a sense of longing, which entices audiences both inside and outside the region to look differently at their place in the global community.

‘Brabants for Beginners’ is a theatre production offering a reverse integration course on the culture of Brabant, where identity and integration take centre stage.

During the symposium ‘Will You Join Us?’ (‘Kom je ook?’) and in subsequent projects, cultural institutions are given tools to develop new media applications geared towards boosting public involvement.

‘Reporters from the West’ is a thirty-minute documentary on art and culture statements made by children from the Dutch Antilles, Aruba and Saint Maarten.

Memphis Film fleshed out the project ‘Reporters from the West’ with extra activities, actively contributing to the creation of a diverse and positive image of the Dutch Antilles and Aruba.

‘Rif Retour’ is a travelling exhibition on labour migration, which actively visits young Moroccans.
Holy Land Foundation
The programme ‘Open Your Mind’ promotes respect and understanding, and fosters ties through open dialogue on culture and religion. It pushes the boundaries of traditional museum practice by actively demanding that museums play a socially relevant role.

‘Kuiven en Kraplappen’ is a travelling exhibition depicting the Women of Spakenburg in their traditional costume, demonstrating that tradition and progress can happily co-exist.

The exhibition entitled ‘Anno’ showcases the history of the village of Veenhuizen and the relationship between local residents, guards and detainees.

The open-air restaurant ‘REST.’ is constructed from wood residue, and the remains of food, scraps and waste food are used in a creative way to prepare meals.

Stedelijk Museum Kampen used a multi-media tour to make a connection between the collection and the city of Kampen, and in the process attract a wider audience.

‘Face-lift’ consists of a series of exhibitions offering visitors a glimpse inside the world of three different ‘hidden’ target groups: girls in an asylum centre, boys in a juvenile correction centre and elderly patients with dementia in a nursing home.

‘Breda Photo’ is a bi-annual photography festival in which professional and amateur photographers capture their identity in present-day society, bringing themes such as integration and diversity to the attention of a wide audience.

‘Stormbrain’ is a theatre production on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and the impact of ADHD on everyday life.
