DOEN Foundation: a driving force in the search for pioneers
DOEN Foundation has been sharpening up its approach. Our objective of creating a world in which we can all live and be involved remains the same, but the strategy is being adjusted. As from 2010, DOEN will be more actively seeking pioneers: initiatives by people who are in control and therefore making an active contribution to a world in which people have better contact with each other and with their environment. DOEN believes that with this more focussed direction, it will be better able to influence developments and areas neglected by others, thus making innovative ideas and initiatives possible (more quickly).
What will change?
This change in direction will have results for you as pioneers. It will be broken down into the fields of Sustainable Development and Social Cohesion, Culture and Welfare and associated subjects. We are also putting the finishing touches to a number of the current programmes. These concern subject areas in which DOEN no longer sees any role for itself because other players have taken them up, such as sport, involvement in the arts, human rights and the theme of community art within social cohesion.
Look us up at overzicht van collega-fondsen where you can apply for funding in these areas.
DOEN and pioneers
DOEN is looking for pioneers who will make a positive contribution to the following developments:
• oppose against negative effects of human behaviour on climate change
• cultivating an open society based on solidarity
• promoting new economy
In addition to these themes, DOEN will have a biennial DOEN focus. For 2010 and 2011, this is sustainable transport.
