All projects mentioned on this page are initiatives supported by DOEN according to the new approach.
Climate Change
DOEN is helping to combat further climate change by directing its attention to reducing CO2 emissions. To achieve this, DOEN will over the next few years be supporting initiatives in the area of sustainable energy and sustainable transport.
Projects, which DOEN has previously supported and which are a good example:

• Remotion (electric transport)
Open society based on solidarity
DOEN contributes to an open society based on solidarity with independently-minded citizens in the Netherlands (including Aruba, Curaçao, St. Maarten and the BES islands), Africa, Asia, Latin-America and the Middle East. In the next few years, DOEN will be focussing on Culture and media in Africa, Asia, Latin-America and the Middle East by invigorating the international culture sector and the independent media, promoting the social role of culture in the Netherlands, supporting social design in the Netherlands and by stimulating new meeting points and media in the Netherlands.

New Economy
A new economy is an economy in which sustainable enterprise is the focus: an organisation or individual starts activities, the primary objective of which is to make a positive contribution to a world, in which we can all live and be involved (nature, people and environment). Making a profit is one way of being able to sustain this in the long term. DOEN will be focussing in the next few years on the following areas: creating a new economy: creating new economies where sustainable enterprise is the focus, supporting socially-oriented companies and stimulating sustainability innovations such as the cradle to cradle concept.
