CLIMATE CHANGE

DOEN is helping to combat further climate change by directing its attention to reducing CO2 emissions. To achieve this, DOEN will over the next few years be supporting initiatives in the area of sustainable energy and sustainable transport:

•Through the use of sustainable energy the environment improves for now and the future generation. With this programme, DOEN shows that solutions are possible, efficiently and payable.
Within the sustainable energy area, DOEN aims at preambles with a commercial treatment. Within the Netherlands we are looking for pioneers in the field of sustainable energy and energy saving; moreover we finance initiatives who focus on access to sustainable energy in Africa.

•A considerable part of the emission of greenhouse gases (17%) is caused by transport. To reduce this effectively, DOEN supports intitiatives in the field of sustainable transport, such as alternative transport solutions or transport via clean fuels.
